Imagine being a teenager and hanging out with West in real life.
It's hard to believe, but it's been exactly 15 years since A Walk To Remember was released, and on the back of its anniversary, the film's stars, Mandy Moore and Shane West reunited to reminisce about their experiences on set.
It's been 15 years since "A Walk to Remember" premiered in 2002, and it lives on to this day as one of the best high school romance movies of all time.
It was about two people who couldn't be more opposite falling in love.
, it still feels like just yesterday we cried our eyes out while watching the duo tie the knot on-screen, promising to love each other forever.
And this is exactly why we've all been hoping to see them reunite ever since. While partaking in an "Ask Me Anything" conversation on Twitter, Moore revealed she, West and the rest of the cast have been working on getting a reunion together."We're working on it!
It just gives me an all-encompassing warm feeling inside."She added, "There are very few times in your career when the memories and the relationship you have to a project match the relationship that an audience has to the project—but this movie is as special to me as it seems to be to people out there in the world.
'He was the character to me and there was definitely a part of me that absolutely fell in love with him.'Based on the Nicholas Sparks novel of the same name, the film tells the story of a rebellious teenage boy named Landon, who falls for the sweet Jamie.
I remember I wasn’t keen on that idea and thankfully it didn’t happen,' he revealed. The person just didn’t seem right.'While both stars describe the film as life-changing, Mandy says the biggest impact was on her appearance – specifically her hair, which she had to dye brown for the role.'I was blonde then and, for the most part, haven’t gone back since. 'As silly as it sounds, there was a real significance in the way that people saw me, but also in the way that I carried myself and that I saw myself.'While the pair have no plans to reunite together onscreen at the moment, Mandy says they're both keen to, and are just looking for the right opportunity.'We're working on it! For now though, fans of the hit film will just have to settle for a walk down memory lane instead. 'Shane followed suit as he posted the message: 'It seems it's the 15th anniversary of the little engine that could.... Time flies Your love and support for this film will always put a smile on our faces.
Mandy took to Instagram to mark the occasion on Wednesday, sharing a photo from the movie and writing: 'In honor of the 15th anniversary of A Walk To Remember, let's take a walk down memory lane...
Mandy Moore and Shane West had the best on screen chemistry ever: Jamie Sullivan and Landon Carter's relationship is what every teenage girl dreams about. the way that they talked and looked into each other's eyes made you wish they had this connection in real life. Years later, Mandy has just confessed to something huge and we can barely contain our excitement. I was just so caught up in the moment and the experience." Mandy continued, "I absolutely walked away from that project so convinced that there would never be a project as special as that. Who feels like they need to go back and watch the movie now that you know this?! But, this is truly one on-screen couple that will live on forever!
She actually admitted that she fell in love with Shane while they were filming. Just knowing that all along Jamie looking into Landon's eyes was actually Mandy looking into Shane's eyes??
